INTENTIONAL HEALING
Through my PhD studies, I became deeply intrigued by the work of Dr Yury Kronn and his exploration of subtle energy, the relationship between mind and matter, and the potential role of intention in healing. His book, The Science of Subtle Energy, explores experiments investigating subtle energy and the use of technology to generate specific energy formulations for practical applications.I was equally fascinated by Marcel Vogel, the scientist whose work with highly faceted quartz crystals explored their potential applications in healing. His experiments investigated the relationship between crystals, human intention and states of consciousness and he worked with a number of medical doctors over the years, teaching the MDs his techniques of crystal healing, and encouraging them to conduct informal clinical trials of the use of quartz crystals in medical settings. The work of Lynne McTaggart, particularly her investigations into the power of intention, further deepened my curiosity about the relationship between consciousness, intention and wellbeing.Dr. Dean Radin, Chief Scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), has conducted decades of research exploring whether focused human consciousness and intention can measurably influence physical systems. See below for a summary of his fascinating chocolate intention experiment.Inspired by these explorations, I felt compelled to find a meaningful way to infuse my oils with my own healing intentions — to create something that could carry a little of my love, care and goodwill to every person who uses them. For me, each bottle of So-Hum is more than a blend of carefully selected essential oils. It is a personal expression of intention: a way of sharing love, nurturing connection and putting something positive into the world.
WHY ROSE QUARTZ?
• High Stability: Quartz features a very low coefficient of thermal expansion and a high quality factor, allowing it to maintain precise resonance across varying temperatures.• Piezoelectric properties: Quartz can generate an electrical charge in response to mechanical stress and deform when an electric field is applied. In this way it acts as a transducer. In theory, because crystals possess measurable, reversible electromagnetic properties and the human body possesses its own bioelectric and piezoelectric structures (like bone and collagen), a subtle energetic exchange or resonance can occur when a person focuses attention on a crystal.• Symbolism: Traditionally associated with love, compassion, emotional harmony and the heart
PREPARATION RITUAL OF THE OIL BLENDS
Each batch of oil blends begins with an intentional ritual. The crystals are meticulously cleansed, rinsed repeatedly to remove any dust or residue, and left to dry before being carefully laid out.I begin by playing healing chants and sitting in meditation with the crystals, allowing myself to become still and present.I vigorously rub my hands together to cultivate warmth and vital energy, then raise my palms towards the sky, opening myself to the energy of the universe. For ten minutes, I hold my hands above the crystals, visualising a world in which people live healthy, contented lives, free from pain and suffering.Sometimes, I bring my hands to my heart and sing or hum softly, imagining love flowing from my heart, through my hands, and into the crystals. After the ritual, I am often surprised to find white, mottled marks across my palms, almost as though the crystals have left their imprint on my skin. To me, this is a fascinating and deeply personal experience—one that invites curiosity about the subtle exchanges that may be taking place between the body, the mind, and the world around us.

YOGA

MINDFUL VINYASA
Breath synchronised movement informed by quantum physics and neuroscience.
My mindful Vinyasa classes bring together the wisdom of yoga with insights from my PhD research in integrative medicine. Informed by evidence-based perspectives from neuroscience and vital body medicine, my practice is designed to support both physical and emotional wellbeing.I am passionate about the profound benefits of yoga and meditation for mental health and overall wellbeing. These practices offer powerful tools for regulating the nervous system, building resilience, and supporting the processing of both past experiences and the everyday stresses of modern life. Alongside these benefits, yoga provides a wonderful way to develop strength, mobility, flexibility and greater awareness of the body.My intention is to create an intimate, welcoming and safe space where you can cultivate greater self-awareness, find balance, and—perhaps most importantly—not take yourself or your practice too seriously.I believe that part of moving beyond our habitual patterns and connecting with our most authentic, optimal selves is learning to laugh at ourselves along the way. So, I encourage curiosity, exploration and play. Try a pose you never imagined you could do. Move in a new way. Let go of perfection and expectations. There will probably be a few laughs along the way—and in those moments, we discover just how limitless both the body and mind can be.

NEUROYOGA
Rewiring the Mind, Reconnecting with the Body
Cultivating awareness. Expanding potential. Creating new possibilities.

The Patterns That Shape Us
We move through life guided by familiar patterns of thought, belief and behaviour. Our brains are wired to seek safety and predictability, often relying on established responses that operate beneath our conscious awareness.Over time, these patterns shape how we perceive ourselves and experience the world — influencing our beliefs, our reactions and our sense of what is possible.
The Power of Neuroplasticity
These patterns are not fixed. Through experience-dependent neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to adapt in response to experience and practice, we can cultivate new ways of thinking, feeling and being.Rather than viewing our qualities as things we either have or lack, we can begin to see them as skills that can be developed through awareness, practice and intention. The neural pathways we regularly engage become stronger, more familiar and more automatic, while those we use less may gradually weaken. With practice, we can create new patterns and expand our sense of possibility.
From Reaction to Awareness
Our reactions often arise before we have had time to consciously understand them. By learning to recognise the sensations, emotions and impulses that emerge within us, we can begin to understand our habitual responses with greater curiosity and compassion.Yoga and meditation offer a space to develop this awareness. Through movement, breath and mindful observation, we learn to listen to the body and deepen our relationship with our internal sensory world.
Creating a Sense of Safety
As we develop greater awareness of our bodies, we can begin to explore movement with less tension, greater confidence and a deeper sense of ease.Physically, this can support greater range of motion, flexibility and the confidence to explore poses that once felt beyond our reach.Mentally and emotionally, the same practice invites us to question familiar habits, explore new responses and create different experiences of ourselves.
What do we do in a Neuroyoga class?
Eye Training
Training eye movements mimic the same circuitry as movement. To the brain you are moving your body just by moving your eyes. The movements of the eyes using the extra-occular muscles project to, and integrate across many different brain regions that all have a role in controlling movement, posture and cognition.
Neural Flossing
Neural flossing and gliding, allowing your brain to better communicate with your body – A large amount of our flexibility and motion comes down to how safe our body feels in that stretch or pose so communicating to our brain and nervous system that that stretch or pose is safe can increase range of movement.
Exploring Interoception
Interoception is the call from the body to the mind that something is out of balance. It is the perception of internal signals from the body and this can be conscious or subconscious. Mindfulness is shown to activate the insula, the interoceptive center in the brain. That is why those who practice meditation often have superior levels of interoception.
Integrating Left and Right Brain
Cross lateral and mismatched movements strengthen neural connections, heighten cognitive function and promote coordination. Balancing left and right hemispheres can also induce a balance in autonomic nervous system activity.
Play and Challenge
Learning something new stimulates the brain to adapt. By exploring fun, challenging poses that take us gently beyond our familiar patterns, we practise navigating uncertainty, building confidence and approaching challenges with curiosity.
Through mindful movement, breath and awareness, we create space for change — nurturing resilience, expanding our potential and reconnecting with ourselves in new ways.

QUANTUM YOGA
A meeting of science and spirituality in the exploration of who we are.

There is a deeper journey we are all invited to undertake: the journey of discovering who we truly are. In Sanskrit, yoga means union — the integration of our inner and outer worlds, and a return to wholeness.Quantum physics, particularly the study of quantum measurement, invites us to question our assumptions about reality, the observer and the nature of consciousness. By exploring these insights and integrating their deeper philosophical implications into our lives, we may discover a new way of approaching the ancient practice of yoga.
Consciousness: The Ground of Being
Everything exists within consciousness, not separate from.
Within a quantum physics worldview consciousness is an organising principle, the source, the field of possibility. This perspective differs from the classical Newtonian, materialist worldview, which regards matter as the ground of being and consciousness as arising from physical processes.
In Quantum physics objects are calculated as waves of possibility, not as determined movements.
An observer is needed to collapse a wave of possibility into an event where a subject is looking at an object. This is called a quantum collapse.
These possibilities are possibilities of consciousness to choose from. When we do this we are choosing to look at things a certain way, so we can say that we have the power within consciousness to choose our reality.
The Five Bodies of Consciousness
When we consider the experience that emerges through quantum measurement, we can begin to explore reality through five distinct dimensions of experience — what we call the Five Bodies of Consciousness. These five dimensions offer a parallel with the ancient yogic understanding of the five layers, or koshas, of human experience. From the physical and material, through the vital, mental and supramental, to the subtle experience of bliss, each layer represents a different dimension through which consciousness may be experienced and expressed. In this way, the ancient wisdom of yoga and the contemporary language of quantum physics offer two different perspectives through which we can explore the same profound question:
What is consciousness, and who are we beneath the layers of our experience?
The 5 bodies of consciousness, or the 5 koshas of human experience are:
Physical body (Annamaya Kosha): The gross physical form nourished by food.
Vital body (Pranamaya Kosha): The network of breath, life force (prana), and chakras.
Mental body (Manomaya Kosha): The lower mind that processes sensory data and emotional fluctuations.
Supramental body (Vijnanamaya Kosha): The higher mind, conscience, and intuitive discernment (buddhi).
Bliss body (Anandamaya Kosha): Unified consciousness
When a material possibility is realised, we experience the physical world through our senses, perceiving the material as external to our awareness. When a possibility within the subtle or vital body is realised, we experience movement and sensation as feeling. In yogic traditions, this vital energy is known as prana or chi, and its experience is felt internally. When a possibility within the mental body is realised, we experience thought — the inner landscape of ideas, concepts, memories and interpretation. At the level of the supramental body, associated in this model with archetypal forms and the soul, we experience intuition: a deeper mode of knowing that seems to arise beyond ordinary thought. The Bliss Body is the most subtle of the five layers and, within this framework, the foundation from which the others arise.
It is said to interpenetrate all the other layers, not as something separate from them, but as the subtle field within which they arise. It is associated with profound spiritual states in which the usual experience of time, space and individual identity falls away, revealing a sense of unity and interconnectedness.
At its deepest level, the Bliss Body can be understood as the experience of unified Consciousness — the recognition of a field of pure awareness that is not separate from us, but intimately present within us.
It is not something we need to create. Rather, it is something we can become quiet enough to experience.
Each of these dimensions offers a different way of experiencing reality: sensing, feeling, thinking and intuiting — expressions of our lived experience within consciousness.

The Ego Self and the Quantum Self
We can experience ourselves through two different modes of identity: the ego, or conditioned self, which operates in a more classical, localised mode, and the Quantum Self, experienced as more open, non-local and expansive. From this perspective, the movement of the vital body reflects a dynamic between these two modes — between the conditioned and the creative, between what is familiar and what is possible.Yoga means union or integration. It can therefore be understood as a movement from identification with the conditioned self towards a deeper awareness of the Quantum Self — from the seemingly fixed and localised experience of the particle to the openness and possibility represented by the wave.Yoga and meditation are practices that bring our attention inward and slow us down. As we become quieter and more present in the body, we create space to notice possibilities rather than immediately reacting from conditioned patterns. In this space, creativity can expand. We become more aware of possibilities, more able to respond rather than react, and more open to different ways of being.
Chakras, Creativity and Wholeness
Chakras can be understood as places within the body where the vital and physical dimensions of our experience meet. Within this framework, consciousness brings the movement of the vital body into expression through the physical body, with each chakra associated with particular physiological, emotional and psychological patterns. In Tantra, the opening of the chakras therefore represents more than the movement of energy. It is a process of spiritual awakening — of becoming aware of and transforming the patterns that have become held within us.We are seeking integration: a movement from the conditioned ego towards the higher Self. The conditioned movements of prana associated with each chakra, together with the conditioned movements of the mind that we experience as habits, beliefs and emotional patterns, form what we call our ego-character. This character is a persona — a protective mask shaped by our experiences, but not the entirety of who we are.Beneath this conditioned identity lies the possibility of a deeper Self.At each chakra, there are conditioned patterns of energy and emotion, but there is also the potential for transformation. Creativity becomes the means through which this potential can be realised. When we bring awareness and creativity to a chakra, conditioned emotional patterns can be transformed. Insecurity can become a deeper sense of safety; unworthiness can open into genuine self-worth; contraction can become freedom and possibility. In this sense, the Tantric journey is not about rejecting the ego, but about transforming and integrating it — allowing the conditioned patterns of the vital body to find new pathways of expression. As these patterns are transformed, the chakras are said to “open”: energy is no longer confined to its habitual pathways but becomes available to new possibilities of being. This movement towards integration is wholeness — the root of the word holy, and, in this framework, the essence of healing.Healing is therefore not about becoming something other than ourselves. It is about removing what obscures our wholeness and awakening to the deeper Self that was always there.
What do we do in Quantum Yoga?
Quantum Yoga is a deeply personal journey into the nature of our consciousness and the patterns that shape who we are. It invites us to look beneath the surface and explore what may be holding us back from realising our full potential — physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.Through mindful movement, meditation and deeper self-inquiry, we begin to recognise the emotions, habitual responses and beliefs that influence how we experience ourselves and the world. By bringing awareness to the ways these patterns are felt in the body, we create space to reconnect with our vital energy and cultivate greater balance and wellbeing. We explore the chakras — energetic centres described in yogic traditions and associated with different dimensions of our physical, emotional and psychological experience. We ask ourselves: Where do we feel blocked? What emotions or beliefs might be contributing to these patterns? How are they influencing the way we think, feel and live?As we begin to recognise the relationship between our thoughts, emotions and conditioned responses, we can interrupt the familiar narratives that define our sense of self — the stories we have come to believe about who we are and what is possible for us.This is where transformation begins. By creating space for new perspectives, new emotional responses and new ways of being, we open ourselves to experiences beyond our habitual patterns.
In Quantum Yoga, health becomes more than the absence of disease. It becomes the ongoing journey towards wholeness — realising our potential and living with greater awareness, freedom, creativity and connection.

INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE CONSULTS
A Quantum informed approach to realising your full health potential

Hi, I'm Hannah Slezacek;
mother of two very busy boys under 7, Yoga teacher and Integrative medicine PhD student (nearly complete!).
I was born in rural Suffolk, England, and in 2008 made the move to Cape Town, South Africa — a city that has well and truly captured my heart. Here, I met my husband, and after a challenging journey to conceive, we welcomed our first son 12 years later.Today, we live at the very tip of Africa, in the beautiful conservation village of Scarborough, where we are raising our two boys immersed in nature.
MY STORY
My fascination with medicine began at the age of eight. Perhaps it grew from an innate empathy — a deep sensitivity to the suffering around me and a wish for people to be a little kinder to one another. Or perhaps it was simply the result of obsessively watching ER. Either way, I knew I wanted to help people.
Medical school was the plan, until life had other ideas (a story for another day). Instead, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, followed by a Master’s in Crime Scene Investigation and Forensic Archaeology. I know — quite the detour.I was preparing for an interview with West Yorkshire Police to become a crime scene investigator when something in my gut told me I was heading in the wrong direction. Not long afterwards, I moved to South Africa, where I unexpectedly found myself in film production, spending the next decade working in the industry.
But my curiosity about health never left me.After experiencing hormonal health challenges and a long, difficult journey to conceive, I found myself searching for answers that conventional medicine hadn't been able to offer me in the way I needed. I wanted to understand why — to look beyond symptoms, explore root causes and find a more holistic approach to long-term health and wellbeing.
What began as a deeply personal search became a much bigger journey of discovery, learning and questioning. I found the Quantum Medicine PhD programme at Quantum University and began studying alongside my work as a producer for my husband’s documentary film company, Wandering Fever. Then, in 2020, after years of hoping and navigating the uncertainty of our fertility journey, I welcomed my little boy into the world. A moment of immeasurable joy that changed my life in ways I could never have imagined.
Looking back, the path has been anything but conventional. Yet every unexpected turn — from chemistry and forensic archaeology to filmmaking, motherhood and the study of Integrative Medicine — has shaped the way I see health, healing and what it means to truly thrive.Today, my work brings together these seemingly disparate worlds, with a shared curiosity about the human experience and a belief that wellbeing asks us to look at the whole person, not simply the parts that need fixing.
